Armed gunmen belonging to militant group BRAS (Baloch Raji Aajoi Sangar) have killed at least 14 people after forcing them off buses on the Makran Coastal Highway in Balochistan, officials said on Thursday.
Around two dozen attackers in paramilitary Frontier Corps uniforms “stopped buses on the Makran Coastal Highway and gunned down 14 people,”said the home secretary who also added that the four vehicles were traveling to Karachi from the coastal town of Ormara.
It was also reported that a naval official and a coast guard member were among the killed victims. Mir Zia Langov, Balochistan’s home minister, also told foreign news agencies that a full-scale investigation was launched into the attack and to track down the gunmen involved in the attack.
Prime Minster Imran Khan’s office also condemned the killings in a statement.
The Baloch Raji Aajoi Sangar (BRAS) – an alliance of the BLF, BLA and BRG Baloch armed groups – claimed responsibility for the attack.
