India’s LOC violation and claims of ‘inflicting damage’ raise questions, once again!

In the early hours of Tuesday, Indian military planes have violated the Line of Control (LoC) according to the Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations Major-General Asif Ghafoor.

Maj. Gen. Ghafoor, in his tweet, said that the “Indian Air Force violated Line of Control. Pakistan Air Force immediately scrambled. Indian aircrafts gone back”.

He later added that “Indian aircrafts intruded from Muzafarabad sector. Facing timely and effective response from Pakistan Air Force released payload in haste while escaping which fell near Balakot. No casualties or damage”.

The ruling Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI), in their twitter statement, reacted to the intrusion saying, “we realise it’s election year, and a desperation across the border. Fact of the matter is, Indian jets were forced to retreat in haste by Pakistan army patrols and dumped fuel, which in their scramble they thought was a bomb”.

The authenticity of Indian claims was questioned again on social media, where users compared the strike with the (in)famously “staged” Uri Surgical Strike.
